Ultraviolet rays and peroxide cause oxidation. In addition, the combination of ammonia, peroxide and tint levels play a roll in oxidation. Even though the newly colored hair has been rinsed, shampooed and conditioned, it still contains peroxide.
Oxidation can make the hair lose or change its color. Blondes especially become brassy and artificial in appearance. Maintenance Spray is a light leave-in conditioner for completing the daily hair care regiment required for hair extensions and hairpieces. This is a special conditioner that is an absolute first in the field because of its ability to neutralize oxidations. It will solve the major problems of color fading, sun bleaching, dull appearance, dry ends and limp body.
Maintenance Spray will immediately cause the peroxides to evaporate without affecting the color. There are a few shampoos and conditioner in the market that contain anti-oxidant ingredients that work in a similar method. But they are in the hair for only a few minutes, which leaves no time for it to work effectively. This is a leave-in conditioner that will not be rinsed out, thereby leaving all the important aspects of Maintenance Spray to work all day. In addition, we have included UV protection against the harsh sunrays that deplete the hair of moisture and cause the hair’s color to lighten.
Try the following experiment with the Maintenance Spray and see for your self the effectiveness. Fill a small measuring vial (cylinder shape) with 1 ounce of 20-40 volume peroxide. Add about 1 ounce of Maintenance Spray. Now watch it work. What you should see is the neutralizers in the conditioner dissipating the peroxide. (These amounts are greatly concentrated; therefore, this will not occur on the client’s scalp.) The chemical reaction caused the liquid to foam and bubble, which creates some heat.
