PRE-SHAMPOO SOLUTION

We know that swelling and moisture loss are symptoms of cut processed hair. We needed to create not just a gentle shampoo but also a pre-treatment to protect the fiber before applying detergents.

Cut hair is more hydrophilic (liquid absorbing).  It easily absorbs water and chemicals since it no longer has a protective shield.  Regular hair is hydrophobic (liquid rejecting) because of the natural oils that block water from penetrating.  We need to return the state of the hair’s surface to a hydrophobic (rejects water) layer. This is the job the Pre-Shampoo Solution performs.

For hair to swell a solvent must penetrate into the hair and bonds must be broken.  Water and relative humidity (free moisture from the surrounding air) penetrate and cause breakage in primary hydrogen bonds.  This is reversible breakage and damage does not occur.  But many chemicals penetrate, swell the hair and break covalent bonds that are irreversible and damage occurs.  Cut hair has already suffered extreme damage from chemical stripping, bleaching, dyeing and sometimes permanent waves.  It is extremely vulnerable to swelling, and therefore, it is vulnerable to cleaning agents.

We created a Pre-Shampoo Solution based on natural oils to take the place of the healthy cuticles that were chemically altered or removed. This product creates a protective barrier along the hair by making the fiber hydrophobic (rejects water) to prevent swelling. The oils are absorbed into the fiber to moisturize and block any harsh cleaning agents from penetrating and drying the hair extensions.

The Pre-Shampoo Solution is a specialized mix of conditioning natural oils that will re-coat the surface to repel water and detergents from penetrating into the vulnerable hair fiber.

The Mild shampoo with its reduced amount of detergents (compared to shampoos with high percentages of detergents for regular hair) and specialized natural ingredients will perform in tandem with the Pre-Shampoo Solution to safely clean the hair without causing dryness or irreversible swelling.
