Hair & Compounds started as a small hair and hair extensions supplier of Russian hair in 1992. The following year we were the first company to open our own hair collection office in Moscow, Russia. The Mafia soon became involved and we had to close the office down and hire a local subcontractor to keep collecting hair. Four years ago Hair & Compounds established a collection office in Billa Tzerkva, Ukraine.

Step by step our name got to the wig makers of the film industry and today we are the biggest supplier of hair extensions to the entertainment industry.

History of Hair Extensions at Hair & Compounds

After a few years of processing hair we encountered the same problems that any other hair company found: bleaching and dyeing. Hair & Compounds decided to solve these problems in a scientific way and bought research and testing equipment. This lab assists us until today in improving our bleaching, maintenance, dyeing, removing the cuticle techniques as well as helping us to upgrade the overall performance of our WET LINE.

Our IONIX wet line is the only line that was designed specifically for cut hair and we support our customers by supplying them a set of scientific documents outlining the experiments that we have done during the process of developing the IONIX line.

After 1995 we started to shift more of our resources to the hair replacement industry and specialized in adhesives as well as in sophisticated technology to solve fundamental issues regarding the low quality of hair used in this industry. We changed the industry by enforcing the use of safer adhesives, solvents and understanding the important legal role of the MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheets) in protecting the rights of the customers nationwide. Over the years we sold some of our products (the Perfector family adhesives) to the largest companies in the US: New Concepts, New Image, On Rite, American Hairline, International Hair Goods.

In the last few years Hair & Compounds expanded the export markets selling to Japan, UK, France, Germany, Belgium, Italy and Holland.

A few years ago, Isaac, the president of Hair & Compounds, started to write technical articles for the National Hair Journal. He was also invited a few times to the Hair Hour, a radio program dealing with issues concerning our industry. Over the years he was invited many times to seminars worldwide to lecture about the technical aspects of human hair in the hair replacement or hair extensions industries. H&C conducted a large research and testing job for Hair Club For Men analyzing 21 different suppliers and to rank them according to their hair quality. The categories we chose to test were moisture content, microscopy analysis, strength analysis, break analysis and different measurements of the internal bonds of the hair to check for internal damages.

In 2001 we established our manufacturing plant in Chennai (Madras), India. Today we are the only company that selects and sorts for the best hair from the field level, which is the stage before the hair is sold to the export houses. We send to India our technology, our chemicals and we fully train our employees. By the end of the hair processing we are exporting finished goods from India to our Japanese, European and American customers.

As of 2008 we manufacture multiple hair extension lines for pre-tipped and weft extensions, hair extension bond adhesives and provide hair extension tools and supplies.

Hair & Compounds still provides high quality Russian and European hair for custom orders to the film industry and salons as well as bulk Russian hair for wigmakers.
