The Science behind Manufacturing Hair Extensions

Various instruments in our laboratory helped us find and test production applications as well as the cleanser and conditioners used during production and for maintenance of the hair, the Ionix line. Within our laboratory we conduct hair fiber research and tests production applications. To do so there are three main laboratory tools that we use: Olympus Microscope, moisture content analyzer, and Tensiometer.

 

The Olympus Microscope has the high precision and resolution that is necessary for close examination of hair  fibers and cuticles. This allows for the detection of minute hair behavior under different applications such as daily grooming, use of hair products, and chemical processes.

The moisture content analyzer determines the moisture content of hair before and after use of hair products and any other chemical processes. This instrument identifies minute changes compared to the maximum effectiveness of the chemical process. Moisture content is the single most important factor for hair extensions.
The Tensiometer measures adhesiveness and penetration rate of hair product to hair surface. This helps to identify the amount of deposits left on hair fibers and which shampoos and conditioners will be effective for this particular extension type.
