Hair Extensions – A Necessary Luxury
In the face of a tough economy, consumers will cut back on clothing purchases and going out to dinner or a movie, but one thing they will not cut back on is looking good. The expense can easily be justified by the need to keep up your appearance, especially if you are job hunting. Also many women depend on that time away at the salon to be pampered and to keep their sanity in these difficult times. They will compromise on expensive meals and this season’s must-have dress but not their hair or skin.
In the past two years, Hair & Compounds has doubled its hair extension sales. The most popular hair extensions being sold are the Cylinder Hair Extensions and the Ready Made Weft Hair Extensions. Consumers may not be willing to compromise on looking good, but they are being cost conscious when it comes to selecting types of hair extensions. More women are opting to buy quality long lasting hair extensions that can be reused several times.
Instead of spending $1,500 every 3-4 months, which adds up to about $6,000 a year, customers are using reusable hair extensions. With reusable hair extensions they will spend an initial $2,000 and will need 5-6 maintenance appointments in a year averaging $150-$200 each. That can add up to almost a 50% savings.
