Conditioner Build-up on Hair Extensions

Conditioner Build-up on Hair Extensions

“Is it really a breakthrough or just another marketing gimmick?”  In Pantene’s third makeover since 1999, they are finally catching up to hair research performed by Hair & Compounds.  Fancy toys aside, their research is no gimmick.  It’s just a little late.  ABC’s video takes us through a lot of P&G’s process, but we don’t get to see the resolution.  How did the new product come about from this research, and how will it affect our hair?  We can’t speak for Pantene, but Hair & Compounds has worked tirelessly to provide the highest quality product line available, based on years of research.  Just as this video illustrates the Pantene process, we want to walk you through one of ours – the testing and development of our own Ionix Daily Conditioner.

This study was performed in the developmental stages of the product, and continues regularly to ensure quality control.  To start the study, our conditioner is mixed with a fluorochrome liquid that shows under fluorescent light, and is applied to the human hair.  Product build up is then measured by microfluorometric scanning, which uses fluorescent light to analyze individual hair fibers.  Scans are taken along the length of individual hair fibers after one use of the Ionix Daily Conditioner, and again after multiple uses. The Hair & Compounds research team reviews each microfluorometric scan, looking for signs of deposit.  A good conditioner should leave little to no build up, as product deposits will weigh down and damage the aesthetics of your hair extensions.  Results of this study are measured in the following graph:

As seen in the graph above, single application of the Ionix Daily Conditioner shows low and uniform light intensity.  The same results are shown after multiple applications.  Some fibers show light build-up, but others show very little to none at all.  No tested fibers show excessive build up of the Ionix Daily Conditioner after multiple applications. Daily use of the product will not weigh down or damage the quality of your hair extensions.  With proper care, your hair will retain the vibrancy it had at application.

Hair & Compounds relies on science and technology to continuously improve the quality of our hair extension products.  You can peruse our blog to find more educational entries regarding our hair extensions research. You can also visit out Lab page for more information and developments.
