CYLINDER Extension TOOLS

a. Copper Rings

Copperings

The Copper rings (Shells or Tubes) are for the Cylinder Extension application. Our rings do not have the flare at the bottom, are coated with a matte finish both inside and outside the tube and are made with a soft copper metal that does not corrode.

The copper rings are to be installed by pressing them flat with our Soft Tip Pliers, Precision Pliers or the Cylinder Pliers. Remove the copper shells with either the Removal Pliers or the Cylinder Pliers.

(Tip: Avoid slippage by filling the tubes both with the extension tip and the client’s hair before closing. Do not leave any gaps.)

When selecting colors it is preferable that you match your client’s root color or the darkest base color. Copper rings are available in Black, Dark Brown, Light Brown, Dark Blond, Mid Blond and Light Blond.

Available sizes:
Large = 3.5mm x 6 mm   (fits 2 of our small tip Cylinder Extensions strands together for a blend)
Medium = 2.8mm x 6mm   (fits 1 of our large tip Cylinder Extensions)
Small = 2.3mm x 5mm     (fits 1 of our small tip Cylinder Extensions)

b. Threader

Threader

The Threader is for the Cylinder Extension attachment. The copper shells/rings are fed onto the wire loop (save time by loading several rings onto the wire at once), the client’s hair is pulled through the loop and pulled back through the opening of once copper tube. Now the tube is ready for positioning near the scalp, inserting the extension tip and closing with one of pliers.

2 handle sizes available:

4.5” handle with a 6” wire loop (the handle is thicker)
3.5” handle with a 5” wire loop (the handle is thin and fits into the palm of the hand)

c. Cylinder Pliers

Cylinderpliers

The Cylinder Pliers are for the Cylinder Extension attachment. Use them for both closing and opening the rings/tubes. The pliers are 5.5” long, 1” jaw, lightweight with a single leaf spring. Use the flat tips for closing the copper rings until flat. Use the two-sided grooves for opening the rings by placing the flattened copper ring vertically into the grooves, press gently down until the ring begins to open and revert to a rounded shape. The Cylinder pliers work on all sizes of rings and tubes.

d. Soft Tip Pliers

Softtippliers

The Soft Tip Pliers are for the Cylinder Extension attachment. Use them for closing the rings/tubes only. These pliers are 5.5” long with a ¼” wide flat tip jaw made of polished stainless steel with PVC grips. The Soft Tip pliers have non-metal tips that will not scratch the paint finish of the copper rings/tubes.

e. Remover Pliers

Removerpliers

The Remover Pliers are for the Cylinder Extension attachment. Use them for opening the rings/tubes only. These pliers are 5” long with 3mm groove tip jaws, a fine narrow tip for precision handling and non-slip grips. Unlike many groove tip pliers these do not have cutters and the outer or first groove is the perfect size for opening all ring sizes.

f. Precision Pliers

Precisionpliers

The Precision Pliers are for the Cylinder Extension attachment. Use them for closing the rings/tubes only. These pliers are 5” long with PVC grips, stainless steel construction and smooth jaws that prevent scratching of any paint finish. The curved nose makes it comfortable and easy to close the rings when a stylist prefers to shape the copper ring around the extension tip.

g. Drawing Cards

Drawingcards

Drawing cards are the perfect tool for managing your bulk hair and pre-tipped hair extensions. Drawing cards have been used by wigmakers for decades as a tool to hold the bundles of loose hair. It firmly holds the loose hair, keeps the roots aligned and prevents the hairs from tangling. Made of fibrous leather - 7" x 6"
For pre-tipped hair extensions you can place your bundles of hair inside the drawing cards - with different colors together - easily and quickly pull out one strand at a time while making your attachments.
Directions:

  • Place one card on a table top with pins facing away from you.
  • Remove any bindings on the bundle of hair and lay on top of the card.
  • Make sure the top roots of the hair are facing you and the hair is evenly distributed on the card.
  • Lay the top roots of hair 2-3 inches outside of the card.
  • Place the top card, with pins facing away, on the hair and push the card together.
  • The cards should close evenly with pins touching the other card or there is too much hair inside.
  • Place a 2-5 lb weight on top of the cards to keep it in place.
  • Now you can easily pull out the hair strands in the amount you want without tangling the remaining hair.
